Aegis’ Eagle Eyes stations have once again started detecting signals from Thargoid surface sites. As before, a rapid-response team from Canonn including Commanders factabulous, Maligno, Violet Lightwave, Redden Alt-Mer and others has been hard at work decoding the signals and using captured Thargoid technology to locate the targets.
One signal apparently pointed to a previously unknown Thargoid Barnacle site on Pleadies Sector XU-P B5-1 planet A3.
Barnacle expert Cmdr Panpiper linked in to help direct the search, and commented: “Highly likely then that there is a forest on [this] planet,” although so far only a single Barnacle has been found.
Cmdr Maliic_vr questioned “What is so special here?”—it’s well known that Barnacle sites are fairly common around the Pleiades, and even appear in both the Witch Head and California Nebulae. So far, there are a lot of questions and few answers.
During the decoding and investigation process, Commanders factabulous and Maligno speculated on one of the big questions:
“Why are there transmitters next to stations that are going to be attacked, and who put them there?” – Cmdr factabulous
“Now I’m all paranoid…what if INRA…er, Aegis is baiting the ‘goids here?” – Cmdr Maligno
In addition to two barnacle sites it seems that the system Lunguni has been targeted again, although there is some doubt about whether this is the intended target, or if it’s some sort of glitch in the long process of extracting locations from Thargoid signals. The other target appears to be Phillips City in the Madngeri system. The Aegis capital ships Vanguard and Acropolis do not currently appear to be on-station in these systems.
Commander Gluttony Fang released a statement to Sagittarius Eye on this new development:
“While it is reassuring that we have regained our intelligence network—Eagle Eye installations—it is uncertain whether the repeated strike on Luguni is a feint or an actual target. The intelligence department in the Anti-Xeno Initiative is currently deploying a survey for our members to vote on which system requires our prioritisation. The odd momentary silence does not bode well with me.”
Those wishing to assist in this research are encouraged to take part in public discussions or join the Canonn group. Those pilots wishing to engage in defensive action are encouraged to join the Anti-Xeno Initiative to help coordinate efforts.
